We love Lambertville, New Jersey. What we love is the water, the Canal, and the Delaware River. It's the same place where George Washington crossed. It is beautiful in every season, and the geese glide with a serene contentment Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. This painting was based on the sight of such a tranquil goose, I spied from the footbridge between Lambertville and New Hope, Pennsylvania on a calm and lovely May day, very different I suppose from the freezing, fighting Winter our first President crossed with his men.
