ARTIST'S STATEMENT: I paint in oil and acrylic. I am interested in what I can do with color to express deep emotion. I don't believe in categories, but I consider myself a figurative expressionist.  What matters most to me are the emotions and feelings revealed in the subject's face and body posture.  There are too many artists to list as inspiration, but I love Modigliani, Matisse, Georgia O'Keefe, Utamaro, and Kirchner, to name a few.
