This painting was inspired by a wonderful book, THE STORY COLLECTOR, by Evie Woods. It deals with the "good people" who are fairies, spirits, part of the Irish Celtic tradition. They live in green mounds at the foot of the Hawthorn Tree. I was inspired to portray these magical beings and the majestic tree. The deer is my own magical being that I included.
